VEVO Launches Destination for Premium Music Video
I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that these aptly named, Christian Louboutin “Supra Fifre” boots in fire engine red likely had only two customers this year: Singer Ciara, and maybe Wonder Woman. That’s not to say I don’t love them. I do. They’re the kind of boots which, the first day I became a super star or a super heroine, I would run right out and buy. But until that day, I’ll just enjoy living vicariously. The Christian Louboutin Supra Fifre boots are very hard to find. Your best bet is to call your nearest Barney’s, Bergdorfs and Niemans and ask their advice. And let me know if you actually buy a pair!

Blake Lively in Stella McCartney Over-the-Knee Boots

Eric Daman Celebrates You Know You Want It

Blake Lively was all confidence in these Stella McCartney perforated thigh-high faux leather boots at an awards show in New York City January 12. Sigh. To be, not necessarily Blake Lively, but to be any woman who can rock these boots…that is a dream. They pretty much call for a perfect pair of pins and a well-turned ankle to look good. These boots are sold out online, but you can probably find a pair if you call around the high-end department stores.

Why should we care which boots celebrities wear? Kate Hudson has been seen out and about recently in these Stuart Weitzman “Mezzo” over-the-knee boots.   And so what? Well there is the shallow (and in my opinion entirely understandable) curiosity about anything that famous people say, do or wear, and the fact that they are often trend-setters and so when we follow them, we are sure to follow the trend (if that is what we want to do). But MORE than all of that (for me) is the knowledge that celebrities have both the finances and the knowledge to purchase the very best, and for a down-to-earth girl like Kate, who is also one of the Boot Queens of Hollywood (dubbed by me), I have to believe that comfort and practicality are going to be factors.  They definitely apply in this case.

One of the biggest boot conundrums of the 2009/2010 season has been which OTK boot to purchase. And one of the biggest problems people have with OTKs is their tendency to slouch down so one has to keep tugging at them.  Leave it to Kate to choose the Stuart Weitzman “Mezzo”–one of the few OTK boots with this unique construction. While the front is suede, the entire back is made of a crepe material which allows this slim boot to hug the calf in a custom fit. I also like the fact that, though they are flat, the structured heel and slightly wider toe box not only make these more comfortable and durable, but they prevent these flat suede OTK’s from looking even remotely elven (not an easy feat). So for my single choice for a flat, fitted, casual OTK this season, the Stuart Weitzman ”Mezzo”  is it.  Available for $508 at endless.com and $486 at Amazon.com.

…What do you think of these turquoise boots?

Kim was bringing Hollywood to Harlem, shopping with her mom at the NYC upper westside boutique “Bourgeoisie”. You can buy these Casadei suede over-the-knee boots from the store online at bourgeoisieshoes.com for $1370. Of course the word “can” has many connotations. So what DO you think of the boots?

Trend Alert: Over-the-Knee Boots

battleoftheboots

I had intended to write a novel about the pros and cons, the woes and wonders of  today’s hot OTK (Over-The-Knee) boot look, when I realized that it had already been written by Gala Darling, the famous pink-haired gal with the pink blog known as “Icing”.  Gala Darling hails from New Zealand but calls Manhattan home, and is a self-described “international nomad & playgirl” who writes on anything and everything that comes to mind about subjects like love, make-up, world issues, fashion and her favorite things. Whatever it is, Gala Darling has LOTS to say about it, and lots of readers. So, in recognition that there is only so much information world needs on this particular subject, I’ll let Lady Gala herself inform you about the OTK craze and what you can do about it: Over-The-Knee Boots: How to Do It by Gala Darling
